Doggo Detective - Week 4-5
The first thing I made was the main menu, with a basic ‘start game’ button. After a team member’s request, I also added a magnifying glass to act as the cursor.
I then created an introductory narration. It had no visuals, but the text worked well. I used the opening crawl from Star Wars as dummy text, which was quite funny to explain several weeks later.
A few days later, I started on my first major addition to the game: the ‘Polaroid Camera’ system that would allow the photographer to take a photograph that the dog would carry to the Constable. The photo would also be saved to your ‘Downloads’ folder upon being taken.
I was then assigned the task of creating a blockout for the gameplay scene: the fair in which the first case takes place. I did this by recreating a drawing detailing the placement of each tent.
